NZIODA, in conjunction with the Napier Saiing Club are excited to be bringing this amazing event to New Zealand. We know this will be a fantastic opportunity for Optimist sailors and their families from all around the world not only to be part of a great sailing event, but a true kiwi experience!
About Napier
Napier is located in the Hawke’s Bay, on the East Coast of the North Island. Long hot summers and mild sunny winters make the Hawke’s Bay a perfect year round destination to enjoy the great outdoors.
Napier Sailing Club
In Napier we have a world class sailing venue with a great club, open water, good winds and negligible currents. The Yacht Club and its facilities are as good as you will see anywhere in the world, and the experienced race management will ensure a superbly run regatta. Napier has hundreds of hotel and motel rooms within walking distance of the Yacht Club, and the airport is just a 3 minute drive away.

While the sailing is on there will be ample opportunity to join daily tours around the region, or venture inland to Rotorua and Taupo areas for thermal attractions and Maori culture. This is a great opportunity to see New Zealand, so after the regatta please stay a week or two and tour around our beautiful country. But be warned, you may not want to leave!
